Zero-Downtime Deploys
A redeploy, rollback, or auto-deploy builds the new version next to the running one. The new container must pass a health check before it takes over traffic. Until then the old version keeps serving requests.
If the New Version Fails
When the build fails or the new container is not healthy within 90 seconds, AODE discards it, keeps the old container running, and reports the error.
Health Checks and Your Dockerfile
If your repository has a Dockerfile, AODE builds with it. If the image defines a HEALTHCHECK, the swap waits for it to report healthy. Otherwise AODE probes the app over HTTP itself. AODE adds a TCP health check to the Dockerfiles it generates.
